It’s always hard to pick favourites, whether it be a favourite child, t-shirt or, in this case, my favourite aspects of the last year of the magazine. The truth is that it’s pretty hard to find highlights in a magazine that sets such a high standard but if pushed I have to admit that I love the oddball, quirky and often overlooked or forgotten bikes and tricked out hot rod racers above everything else. Bikes such as Norm Edwards’ TR 500 Suzuki long tracker that graced the cover of issue 76, Chippy’s rare Kramer Maico featured in #77 and his magnificent Maico Metisse in the following issue and Neil Daines’ gorgeous Beeza Catalina in issue #79 are bikes that richly deserved their place in the magazine.

To be honest, there’s really hardly a feature bike or article that hasn’t grabbed me in one way or another, Editor Ken has done a great job in keeping all eras of our great sport’s history as relevant as each other and long may that remain the focus of the best classic bike magazine on the planet.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy and peaceful 2020.

SAME OLD DIRT, SAME OLD BIKES, SAME OLD FUN.
